I managed to get another 12x10 min of luminance data to add to the colour shot I had of M83. The detail afforded by the QSI 583 wsg really added a great deal more that I felt was missing from the last Sidonio of this galaxy that I posted. In fact if you look very closely at the two faint galaxies near the bottom of the piure there is an even fainter small galaxy that Ive not noticed previously.
Scope was 10" SCT at FL2500mm, guided using 72mm WO as guidescope.
I was pleased that the camera was able to perform despite a nearly full moon in the sky.
Hi Allan,
It is great result and so beautiful image. I love this galaxy but I can't shot it from my home. You also have lot of details in arms and around some small galaxies. Very good work.

Frank - I agree it's one of my favorites but you have some in the Northern Hemisphere that we would love to image.

Coolhand - it is a great target which I love imaging, but will have to go for some others that Im thinking of now that I have all the equipment working.
Thanks for the enthusiastic response Rob and the colour data was essentially a bit wider but I wanted to get up closer for this galaxy as it has a plethora of detail.
Nice image Allan. Good detail and I think the Lum layer has given the image something. Colour balance is still a little at odds to my taste, but I think if you got the star saturation up you will have a cracker of an image.
Nice to see you getting out there and making the most of these rare clear nights Allan. Lovely shot. I noticed tonight on my recent shot that there is another small bright galaxy at the right of the main galaxy. From the bright star at 3 o'clock there is another moderately bright star at 2 o'clock from the first star. Directly above that second star and pretty much touching is is the core of another bright galaxy (PGC722819)

Your correct - when I added the Luminance data Ive lost a lot of the star clolour. Bugger, another Sidonio.

Paul, Im hopeless at star hopping. Send me an annotated version of yours so I can see it. I've done a neg image of mine and there is quite a few of the little devils. By the way, liked your two shots

Great stuff Alan, You're really getting to the fine detail now with this added data.
Nice job.
Really starting to love this QSI583 camera and I really don't see why they say the chip is best for small refractors as the detail I manage to get with the 10" SCT at 2500 mm focal length is brilliant.
I guess it's a case of what ever turns your head.
Thanks for the comments, Doug.
