I don't know why the background is that colour but it was the lawn in the background. Thanks Baz

The background is bokehed; any subtle hues and colours, once smeared become dominant.

This would have been perfect at f/11 or f/16. Still, it's an excellent portrait.

Convert it to black and white.

But I will avoid watering the grass as I would sink to my knees as it is mud just under the grass we have been getting inches of rain for day's now.

Note how the crop is also more pleasing to the eye, due to the composition being balanced?
