For a DIY project I have in mind. Anyone have a pair of long flexible slow motion cables? Remember when you motorised your Dec and RA on your EQ mount - what did you do with the cables? But I'm only interested in the longest ones. I think that 13.5" is the longest that are supplied.
FYI - I can buy a new pair from the US for USD18 + shipping.
Hi Eric
this site $9 each.

Minimum $25 international buyer. I need a pair. Happy to share postage with you

Yep, that's my chosen supplier for these. Are you happy with that style? I am for what I want. OPT sell a slightly different one, I think, with a bigger knob and slightly more expensive.
For those interested - I'm planning to adjust my SDM's primary mirror collimation bolts (two of them) while I am looking in the eyepiece. I have a plan and two flexible drive cables are part of it

We'd better move this to PM - bye everyone else
Will it end up looking something like this Eric???
Eric, before you buy them , try making them.I have done it before.
Go to the Jaycar site and look under couplers , there are several types that are suitable. Then use clutch cable or speedo cable then fix a knob of some sort to the end.I know you are a handy man so give it a try. http://www.jaycar.com.au/productResu...x=0&SUBMIT.y=0

A little bit, Bryan, but I want a cheap option, no electricals and to be able to use the collimation bolts as normal without having to disconnect anything.
But they are only about $12-13 each with postage. Not worth the petrol for the drive to Jaycar and all the work needed?
