Moon Shot

Hope I'm posting this in the right spot! Just finished playing with my first shots of the moon and think this one is the best I have, with contrast etc enhanced. Prime focus using my Cannon 450D through my Nexstar 80. No tracking since this was one of the nights when the mount decided that none of those funny bright things in the sky matched anything in it's database!!

No stacking (don't know how to yet), no filters, no nothing, so please be gentle!

And of course, my Celestron filter and lens kit and camera adaptor arrived today, so it's raining!

Ken

Exposure is just about perfect, dark blacks, bright whites. Now get some more and learn to stack and tweak them to get the details. On the moon even a good half dozen decent shots will show a lot more.
Excellent start, now you've got the bug ...

Thanks Guys, I know I've got a long way to go, but I'll keep trying! That is, if the sky ever clears again!!

I'm gonna try and get some moonage in with my 550D / Dob Combo as soon as the skies clear

I took some of the Orion Nebula the other night, crap shots, but just to see colour was amazing. Lots more practice required !!!
