Celestron C8, Orange tube classic

Pending a move to Tasmania, all my telescopes have to go.
Two scopes being sold as packages with eyepieces, diagonals etc.

1. Celestron C8, Orange tube classic
This is a fork mounted, orange tube C8. Vintage unknown but it's been a while since Celestron sold these!
It's been well looked after and was purchased from an IIS member about 3 years ago.
Includes:
  • C8 orange tube OTA with 1.25" visual back. Original orange finderscope.
  • Telrad finderscope with base (installed)
  • Fitted with Bob's Knobs
  • Wooden carry case for OTA
  • Fork mount, tripod, wedge, 240V clock drive.
  • Lumicon Sky Vector II Digital Setting Circles (think of this as a poor mans Argo Navis :-) RA and DEC encoders to suit fork mount.
  • Orion star diagonal
  • Dew shield, heater and controller.
  • 12v -> 240V converter.

Price $750.. Selling as a complete package. I may split this up if no takers.

Due to lack of transport and packaging, prefer pick up . Sorry for any inconvenience this may cause

Check out my other sales. More pictures here.

Hi Geoff

If you do decide to split the package, I'd be very interested in the tripod.

The vintage of these C8's is the 70's, I have a 75 model and the optics still can put a lot of newer scopes to shame.

Sounds a bit strange, Geoff, and you probably don't want to do it, but if you do split up, I'd like to buy the original orange finderscope. It'll complete my old orange C8.

Hi, I'd be interested in the dew shield and heater if you decide to split.
