Saturn Jan 28th

Hi All,

Imaged Saturn this morning over a session of just under 3 hrs. The seeing was mostly pretty ordinary but I did get one reasonable RGB

Captured 6 RGB & 807nm IR data sets. Have attached the best RGB & IR images and also attached links to animations of the whole RGB & IR data sets that are on my website. These are the longest animations I have put together thus far this apparition for Saturn.

I don't think the comet like head of the storm is as bright now as it was on Jan 24th and the fainter plumes that extended from the East right up to the brightest section of the head are also not quite as well resolved.

Thanks for looking.
Regards
Trevor

Thanks Troy, it is quite amazing to see this monster storm, which is without precedence, unfold on Saturn. It is just so dynamic and seems to change with virtually each rotation. It truly is a golden era for planetary imaging.

Thanks Matt, for me Saturn holds a very special place, it was the first object I ever saw through a telescope, thanks to our fellow IISer Kinetic (Steve). I always enjoy imaging it but to also be able to follow this quite unique phenomena, as it evolves, is immensely satisfying.

Thanks very much Lester it is entirely my pleasure to supply coverage of how this storm evolves.

Thanks very much Giuseppe, I really do hope you get a break in the weather to image and observe at the eyepiece this incredible sight.
