City lights, but wishing dark country nights
Hobbies?
Music ( Beethoven to Nirvana and everything inbetween), fly fishing (and most other types of fishing), escaping Melbourne to go camping, overseas travel and experiencing new cultures, learning more about this hobby from the good folk on here.
Favourite Food?
Freshly caught mud crab from the Burnett river in Bundaberg - Cooked with fresh chilli, ginger and cream.
Favourite Movie and Why?
Nearly anything made locally. Love the rawness depicted in Australian dramas.
What is something that your co-workers might not know about you?
My private life!
Which 3 people would you invite to your perfect dinner party and why?
Jamie Oliver - To cook
Eddie Vedder - To provide the background music
Natalie Portman - For conversation (She has a 4.0 GPA. Completed a BSc(Psych) at Harvard University - Also speaks Hebrew, French and Japanese fluently. She was also hot enough to turn Darth Vader to the darkside, Mmmm).

Hmm... talk about being put on the spot...
Hobbies?
Car restoration (1980's Saab Turbos and Landrovers), my farm (Omaroo), Pugs (my dogalogues), graphic design (books, websites), radio controlled model aircraft, photography, astronomy, midi keyboards and software synths, camping and 4WD touring - and probably in that order most of the time.
Favourite Food?
I'm with Simon - real Japanese. I lived there for a few years and am still having withdrawal symptoms twenty years later.
Favourite Movie and Why?
Forbidden Planet - without doubt. Shakespeare on steroids.
What is something that your co-workers might not know about you?
I had played piano in various eisteddfods and recitals by 12. I gave it all away for girls at 13. Silly bugga. LOL
Which 3 people would you invite to your perfect dinner party and why?
Dalai Lama - just because he's such a cool bloke, Angelina Jolie - she could just sit there in her Lara Croft getup all day and not say a word and lastly but not leastly Eric Idle - his brand of humour just kills me.

Hobbies
Electronics (even tho its my job), Growing stuff we can eat, Guitar, Salsa dancing, Astro-Photography, Fishing, Ducks, My home.
Favourite Food
Well I have a multi-cultural palate so it is really a hard question. Perhaps then I could submit a food type - SEAFOOD
Favourite Movie
Oh crickey, another difficult one thats probably most accurately answered by the movie I have watched the most ... TITANIC ... It rings all the bells, I never tire of it. 2nd would have to be THE ROCKY HORROR PICTURE SHOW ... I went to the drive in every night for 2 weeks when that came out in 1975ish.
Something my co-workers dont know about me
Well at this point in time I work for myself, however probably one of my best kept secrets is that I enjoy writing.
3 People for Dinner
1. A lady called Bette Offer .. she is my friends mum (who passed away nearly a year ago) and I spent a lot of time around in my formative years. She is my humanitarian benchmark.
2. A lady called Mable Kopittke ... She is my grandmother (unfortunately passsed on as well) and a truely wonderful person who gave her whole life to others, myself incuded.
3. Sorry, couldnt possibly deny ALL MY FRIENDS the chance of meeting and bathing in the beauty of these two people.

Hobbies?
Astronomy, opals; interests are history, the natural world (everything).
Favourite Food?
None. Food is just fuel.
Favourite Movie and Why?
None. Don’t like blockbuster formulaic movies – quite like the gentle, humorous European & Middle Eastern life dramas shown on SBS that end for no reason at all, but none spring to mind. Obviously.
What is something that your co-workers might not know about you?
I lived in a cave for many years.
Which 3 people would you invite to your perfect dinner party and why?
Never been to or held a ‘dinner party’ and don’t understand their purpose. But in the spirit of things – George Bush jnr, Osama Bin Laden, Saddam Hussein. For obvious reasons.
Cheers -

It occurred to me to invite famous world leaders but it would be pointless because they'd all lie.
It also occurred to me to invite Angelina Jolie but you wouldn't get any sense out of most males at the table so she's out.

Sorry, I don't understand all this Angelina Jolie stuff. Plastic face, plastic body, plastic mind, what a dinner guest!
Wasn't there a song about this sort of inane admiration of celebrity, Starsomething Incorporated.
Cheers,
Jason.

Yep - all agreed Jason. Positively awful. She doesn't do anything for me.
A no hoper...

Liz, I would hold the dinner party in a cage, plastic airline cutlery, no glass, and I would sell tickets.

Chris, I didn't say she was a no hoper, I'm aware of her humanitarian interests, and that's very commendable. However, she's still mostly plastic!
She'd still be waaay down on my list of prospective dinner guests. Most people on this forum would be more interesting.
Cheers,
Jason.

Hobbies?
Music, especially sacred choral works, astronomy, trying to improve my photography, and golf which is definitely not improving!
Favourite Food?
Just about anything my wife cooks, I live in my favourite restaurant!
One delicacy is the way she does crispy potatoes in a garlic sauce.
Favourite Movie and Why?
The Mission with Robert De Niro and Jeremy Irons; the music, the atmosphere, the acting, the emotions...
What is something that your co-workers might not know about you?
I'm retired now, but very few knew that I was a choirboy!
I sing in 2 choirs, about to start rehearsing Haydn's Creation, Bach's Magnificat, and Mozart's Requiem. A very busy 3 months ahead, and I won't be able to get to Snake Valley in March, sorry Ken!
Which 3 people would you invite to your perfect dinner party and why?
Sir David Willcocks, English choral conductor, ex Kings College Cambridge choir director, a musical genius. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/David_Willcocks
Simon Halsey, another choral conductor (ex Kings College) who directed a choir I was fortunate to sing with early last year. Lovely guy, I wish we'd had more time to talk. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Simon_Halsey
And I should probably have put her first, but Renee Flemming; stunningly beautiful, in both her looks and her voice, check this out http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1a11Y...eature=related
Oh, what an evening that would be, especially if Denise prepared those potatoes in garlic sauce!
Cheers
Chris
