Question Concrete

How many cubic meters of Concrete would I need for a 4meter x 4meterx 75mm thick Concrete pad and any idea roughly what it would cost
I live in the country so it may be a little more even though there is a concrete plant only five kilometers down the road.
I know it sounds a dumb question but me and math are not compatible
Cheers

If my math is right 1.2m3, but you would be better contacting cement places to verify and if it also be a good idea to add 10-20% for marginal error which I usually do.

Malcolm you don't exude much confidence in your math So I will wait till someone replies with a bit more confidence in their calculations
I am just trying to get some idea of what I will require for my observatory

I don't have much problem with the Math L x W x H faiirly simple, just in the past concrete suppliers may provide there own calculation, The 10-20% is what allow for any practicle job.

Yea Ron it is 1.2 meters, price i'm not sure of, it probably also comes down to how far they have to deliver.

Yes Leon, I have been doing the math and multiplying by .75 instead of .075
I was after a general price for Concrete Say $150.00 a cubic meter or whatever is the going rate plus delivery

Ron,
A very rough calculation that I use for budget pricing is $750 / m3 fully installed.
Concrete only is around the $250 / m3 mark.

Best to just contact your local supplier & ask.

Its much cheaper to do it yourself if you know someone with a mixer. And its really not that hard. I mixed half a cubic meter by myself, so with a few helpers you could get it done quite easily. Don't forget the price of reinforcing.

The volume is right. You can often get small loads delivered and I can get 2 cubic metres for about $400 in Tassie. If you don't need that volume, let them take some back.

Maybe consider increasing the pad size to match the truck or have a few other small jobs done at the same time, like making pavers?
