Horse Head Ha - Final Repro

Hi Guys,

Well I have spent quite a few hours on this again. I still was not 100% happy with my previous effort as I really had more detail there to bring out, the down side was, the flame nebula was being burnt out.

I applied HDR in PS and I used the combined stack of the three 20 minute subs to bring out the detail in the flame nebula.

I think I have achieved both now.

Horse Head Ha Final

Thanks for Looking!

Cheers
Mark

Mark,

I took your last JPG and played with it in Photoshop (yes, I'm that desperate) and the result was quite similar without having to resort to HDR.

Stretch that data, mate!

Yes I was getting the same result too without HDR, but unfortunately with that much stretching the noise was getting out of hand. Using HDR was the better option.

Great result Mark. Well worth the repo. It's nice to have the great data to start with it makes it all so much easier.

Impressive work Mark. Some RGB would certainly complete the mission though the scene has stunning depth as it is. Well done.

Mark, this is a far better result. Are you planning to add colour data to it in the future? Nice to see you imaging again!

Thanks Buddy!

Yes is has been a dry spell for me. Weather, work and family commitments have all contributed to that, but it has all been enjoyable at the same time!

I have another 5 hours of data in LRGB that I also captured in Arkaroola to add to the HA image of Horsey, but I'm experimenting at this stage with the best way to combine the data. As you know combining Ha to colour is a challenge in itself. Hopefully soon I will have something to share.

Cheers
Mark

That is just amazing, love version 2 but this is a more sensible process and with colour I can't wait.

John.
