I was wondering what that mad monk was doing in the chapel under the cross every night.
That mad monk was preaching his southern images to the world.

Here's a few more pics from the weekend and there may be a couple of that mad monk. (Ken)
Pic 3 The Saturday night feast.
Pic 4 That mad monk Ken with mad Martin.
Pic 5 Chris with his beast.
Pic 6 Jen, Doug and John...OMM OMM OMM.
Pic 7 Alex and his monster.
After most of you packed and left, I found a part of a tent pole on the group. It was near the location of Darren's tent, but he has checked and has all his parts. Jen and Daniel dismantled tents a bit latter, so I don't think it was theirs.
No evidence it was hit by the slasher/mower, so I think it has to be from our camp.
PM me if it is yours.
(I searched hard, but didn't find any Ethos eyepieces in the grass over near Alex's location! )
Jen, I'm horrified by that one of me, please delete it!
I can advise that a bout of gastro over the last week has reduced that bulk by 6 kilos!
Another 15kg would be good, but not with gastro!
Happy to advise the worst part cleared up today, and SWMBO advises I can start eating normal food again tomorrow!

Okay, my turn... Not much more to say that hasn't been already said. This is a great camp - a total highlight of my observing year. It's relaxed, friendly and completely inclusive - everyone is made to feel sooo welcome. A huge part of that is down to Ken - you'd struggle to find a more easy goin' fella. And then venue is terrific too (once the small matter of the pesky stray white searchlight is taken care of!).
The sky is always pretty good (seems it gets better once I've left!) BUT it's the people that really make this place special. The support and encouragement is amazing. Everyone helps each other - whether it's a loan of a piece of equipment, software advice, a helping hand to hold or twist something or just passing words of encouragement in the dark - it's fantastic.
I always learn so much at these camps and this one was no exception. Thanks to everyone who helped me out in the field and during the day at the intensive provessiong tutorials. I am completely inspired again after a year of not doing very much atsronomy. Thanks too to all the organisers.
