Helix Ha OIII

SPX350, F4.53, EQ6, ATK-16HR, Astrodon Ha5nm OIII 3nm filters.

Ha-red 3hrs
OIII-blue 3hrs 40min
Ha20%OIII80%-green. 10min subs. Synthetic RGB.

First one is Ha Luminance.
Second one is OIII luminance.

Managed to get some OIII rays in the Helix like Strongmanmike and lots of Ha detail around the hole. This nebula was actually quite bright but needs a wider field to get the various shells of this huge nebula. Had some guiding trouble with the OIII which needs sorting but Ha was fine.

Thanks for looking, John.

Very nice work, John.

I like both versions. Each different in their own way but both stunning.
Nice detail and colours.

Fantastic work john

You have used the available data to great effect.

The OIII features are hard to retain when also trying to display the intricate Ha details huh?

That Orion Optics 14" F4.5 of yours looks to be a keepr too...lets hope my 12" F3.8 is similarly good

Mike

Beautiful work John!
OIII on this target is absolutely stunning with the bursting shock wave effect. Love looking at the intricate details acquired in images; and this is quite pleasing. Must have been great seeing for the night?

Moooar please!

Very nice work. Love the way you blended the Ha and Oiii for the green channel.

All with a 1.4m pixel camera.....I would never have believed it without seeing it. That is excellent.

And has me thinking....maybe..if the finance minister....

Thats stunning, and #2 is especially cool with that bursting effect from the OIII! And some great details in #1 too, what an amazing resolution you've achieved. Thank you for sharing.

Thanks guys for kind comments, I used layers to add back some of the Ha detail in the OIII image. The Helix was too low from UK but here in Bris its overhead. So many galaxies in Fornax don't know what to try next, I will have to get some images of the scope on the EQ6 to show.

Thanks again, John.

Remarkable detail, well done
Do you have a picture of your setup, I'm intrigued you can get such a big scope to work so well on an eq6, you have done exceptionally well to get it working like that.

Great images John. I love the detail you have been able to highlight. The tiny little cometaries are very sharp and clear. I must get a bit more data on this target and add it to what I already have.

Great image.
