Testing out my new lens

Hey all,

Here I am trying to save money, yet when a camera stand comes in front of me.. I cannot help but pass up a bargain.

Picked up a nifty Sigma 24-70 f2.8 EX DG Macro for.. lets just say, a bit higher than a grey import at JB Hifi

Here are some of the preliminary shots taken - it is wonderous what a whole different world it is with great glass.

Critique more than welcome on processing/composition.

Regards,
Robert

1 looks very good 2&4 ok 3 grainy possibly due to cropping/enlargement? You will likely find the lens has a sweet spot both in FL and F stop. Should be a very flexible peice of glass! Best wishes.

Hi Ian,

Grain on 3 was post processed grain to give that film look. - Just a testing on different options of processing at the moment

I think focus was a little off on 2&4 so I need to give those shots another whirl.

Thanks for your feedback

Rob,

Image 3 is a standout. It's got that melancholic and nostalgic feel to it. I feel it's more to do with the saturation rather than the grain, although, the grain does help.

Good stuff!
