Tarantula region in Ha +ve and -ve

There is so much HII around the main spider it is amazing really.

Here is the Ha data only (not posted before ) from last years Tarantula SIIHaOIII effort

Firstly in Positive and to really accentuate just how much HII is in the area here it is in Negative

Will have to have another crack at this with the new larger more sensitive 16803 ProLine and 12" F3.8 when it arrives

Mike

Looks excellent Mike
But? Why is it upside down?
Kidding aside, loads of detail in this image

Those images are just awesome, I would love a try at this monster but would have to be closer in.

John.

That's pretty awesome Mike. Love the image scale. When did you take that? Recently or old data?

Yeh 1300mm FL at 1.4"/pix on a 35mm+ frame is probably the all round perfect compromise in imaging really..?...just needs to be more aperture and faster

I took this data last November so a year ago now...you said you really liked the full colour narrowband at the time, do you recall?

I hadn't posted just the Ha from that session but I did so a year earlier in 2008 ...The Tarantula..?.. maybe it is my Lagoon?

Cheers boys

John, oh yeh man have a go with the big 350 How's that Helix coming along by the way?

I recon, especially in the negative version, it looks like a massive intricate spiders web, so given a Tarantula isn't known for its webs as such, perhaps it should be known as the Spider Web nebula when taken in its entirety?

Mike
