m42 with 127MM + QHY8

Was testing out the 127mm scope (with my new guidescope) and the QHY8 to test the field flatness etc and managed to get 8x15min guided shots before the moon came up. This scope is really flat to the edges without a flattener or other aids - always been happy with it but his shows its potential and lack of flairing on bright stars.
Have to add some Ha with the QSI to finish off.

I was pointing about 30 degrees away from Brisvegas so I thought it maybe possible. No filter ie UHC etc in the line so I was quite chuffed. It really was a test of the new guiding setup and I was pleased with the turn out as I had a really terrible time guiding as I had changed the guidescope rings to some new ones and I had flex in them (long story).
I like the QHY but I love the QSI

Damn FINE shot AL did you do any short exposures as the core is is not over exposed ,guiding looks great you have got to be happy with that one

Thanks for the feedback and Im just glad that the 5" and imaging train is working properly. The new gemini ASCOM driver makes a lot of difference to the utility of the guiding etc.
Everything seems to be working well. Now to put the 10" and QSI to work again.

Tried a bit of reprocessing to bring out the dust a little more - think it worked and is not too over the top.
But Im doing this on another computer and Im not sure the colours etc are the same.

I really miss that focal length and scope. It was a lot of scope for the money paid.

Nice work Allan, the re-pro is great. Personally i'd like to see with a little more saturation (more bold pinks and blues) but a lovely image.
