First Cut Tarantula HaOIIIOIII V2 added

This is my first and a very quick process of Tarantula Nebula in Ha OIII OIII mapped as RGB.

10 X 10 minute exposures of both Ha and OIII combined in CCDStack and stretched in PS CS4.

I will have another look at it in the morning and probably scratch it or at least redo it again and again.

Good image your have picked up a lot of dust there Doug but you may need to work on not drowning out the central star cluster in 2070 although a bigger image may show it better, IMO

Cheers

Nice

Wow Doug, That sort of quality is just wrong. Really sharp and nicely blended image!

I really do like it!

Very nice so far, there is some nice contrasty detail in the neb itself, it needs some star colors to give it pzaz. Perhaps just do an rgb quickie for them , with a copy and paste stars and feather the colors in. I wouldn't change the rest of the image though

I don't think there's going to be much reprocessing required Doug - that's a beauty. The only thing I would do is perhaps up the blue slightly.

Cheers

Doug - looks good to me. Nice details! So this was just H alpha and O III, no Luminance data?

Thanks for the kind comments everyone. I've been busy with work and my daughters wedding so haven't spent much time on astro stuff this last couple of weeks. I haven't yet had another look at the data but have a couple of ideas which may improve the core area. I will have another look at all the data tomorrow night on night shift.

Dave, yes it's just ha as the red channel with OIII at about 70% for green and the same OIII at 100% for the blue channel. I have seen images where one or both emmisson lines can be combined and used as a luminous layer after filtering, sharpening etc with photoshop but in this case that is not what I have used, yet anyway.

Thanks again everyone.
