Drove down to check out the bridge again this morning. Just in time to watch the Channel 10 helicopter land on the school oval.
Gossip has it that the bridge has shifted and there'll be no traffic going over it until the water has gone down completely (water is still flowing over top) and the engineers can assess the situation.
People had set up their tents on the nature strips, all the hotels and motels were full last night, and emergency accommodation was set up at the Memorial Hall.
The schools are virtually deserted, pointless sending your kids when there's only a couple of teachers there to baby sit.
It's raining again.....but I did enjoy the few patches of sunshine we had this morning.
My kids are grinning, no school for a few more days at least.
Just watched it on Ch 10 - was looking out of you jjj.
lots of water for sure, and having to copter in medical supplies, I hope you have plenty of food to last.
The bridge is open now Liz, they're letting vehicles through one at a time atm.
Lucky, my son Jack has a dental appointment tomorrow, wouldn't have wanted him to miss that. LOL

I would secretly wish for a cyclone to miss a dentist appointment.
