1st Jupiter

EQ6, SPX350 F 20ish, PGR Flea3, Astrodon filters.

Weather has been bad for 5 weeks, I am learning about planetary imaging but don't stand a chance at getting any experience with weather like this, the wind is howling at the moment.

Set up scope for clear night on 5th Oct but cloud coming in from sea not shown on IR map, I had literally a 5 min hole in cloud so took this image and had to alter gain as Jupiter faded then brightened in cloudy scene - no star collimation! I need to get to grips with the Flea3 controls as its a bit different from easy DMK.

Image is not bad but hopefully I am in for better results if the weather calms down so will try longer FL's.

Thanks, John.

Creditable result John,

Certainly some nice detail in this image, reckon you are on the right track for sure. I think it is pretty important to handle the colour balance at capture and to avoid saturation.

Regards
Trevor

I'd say you did pretty well for a rushed job on unfamiliar equipment.

Wow, if you can do this in your run up phase, will be interesting to see what happens when you really get serious!

Nice one John. Sucker hole imaging is a real pain so a creditable image under the circumstances.
