Nice Tony, where did you get the image? You might like to reference where you got it, IF it is not yours.

A Titan would be nice.

BTW, how do you find the EQ6? As you know I am buying one and would like some feed back.

Paul,

The EQ6 is fine...when it's working....lol

I have decided to get the G11 with Gemini without the tripod...ordered it yesterday.

Going to use the G11 in the observatory and use the EQ6 skyscan with the Orion 80ED for a widefield travel set up....I know its a bit heavy for a travel set up but I'm not bothering with light mounts anymore......not for astrophotography anyway.

Your right about who owns it....images from owner Olivier Thizy.

Sounds like you had issues with the eq6 C11 combo ?

Your experiences might be of value to those considering buying one.

I love the EQ6 skyscan.....I have been speaking to Rob the Tasco tech who has my mount at the moment.

Rob Stated:

"The problem with the mount is mechanical, there is a tight spot in the RA assembly @ about 45 deg from vertical.
I am checking a replacement out prior to sending it to you."

Rob has been great....

So if this fixes up my motor outages then all is fixed......I'm happy.

For the cost of a EQ6 skyscan you cant do any better for value for money..

I am hopping the G11 performs better then the EQ6 but you have to expect it for the dollar difference.

Losmandy have been waaayyy behind in getting their latest batch of mounts out. I ordered mine from OPT in the last week of September. The new batch was due our from Losmandy about 3 weeks later. It finally arrived in Sydney on Friday. Talk about waiting with baited breath.

Thank goodnes I didn't have it with all the cloud we've had in the last two months. I'd be going stir crazy

I would love to see a Titan....going by the picture comparing the size of the G11 to the titan...the G11 looks so small...but it's not...it's way larger then I first imagined.

That Titan must be gigantic.

P.S Paul...your G11 just got run over by a forklift...sorry to tell you...lol
