I'm selling my Vixen VMC 110 L Cassegrain OTA. It's a handy little 'scope, used infrequently in my backyard mounted on heavy duty pan head video tripod. It comes with its Vixen red dot finder plus a ProStar 1.25" diagonal. Purchased from MyAstroShop in late 2008. Asking $225 including postage and insurance. Hi,

I've read that the images in this scope can be a bit soft, and therefore not ldeal for high-power observing. What's your experience?

It works OK with an 8mm EP (129x); but I usually just trot it out on mosquito-free full moon nights with a 16mm Orion Edge-On EP (64x) that gives me a perfect view of a highly detailed full moon edge-to-edge. I've got a thing for the moon, dating back to 1969 in Washington DC when I produced an LP record, jacket and brochure with live dialogue and photos from the July moon landing.
