The sun is getting busier!

Here's a mosaic of two captures from this morning. I've flipped the image to give the same orientation as the NOAA AR map so its easier to identify the active regions.

The usual business... SM40, ED80, B1200, DMK 41AU02.AS, Registax 5, PS CS3.

More to come... I better go and do some stuff while the weather's good. I gave my old 2x barlow a run as well. Not quite as much mag as the 2.5x powermate (which I think is simply well beyond the resolution achievable with the SM40).

I just had a look at the sun with my PST at about 40x. This was one of the best views I have had of the sun. Several spots and three "huge" flares. The flares are equal or better than those shown in the photo posted by Peter Ward - thanks Peter.

Indeed very nicely done! Extra FL makes a big difference in the resolution of solar images.
