Milky Way quick snap

Just a quick snap of the Milky Way, nothing fancy. Testing a new setup. Taken in my suburban backyard under moderate light pollution.

Canon 7D
3200 ISO
8 x 3 minutes
F/4
Unguided

Cropped to remove a tree.

Roger.

Your idea of light pollution and a Sydneysider's are different. That would almost count as dark sky here.

I'd be happy with that as a "real" shot.

Isn't the best way to crop trees a chain saw?

That looks mighty fine Roger.
I wish chopping a tree would be that easy

Light pollution - maybe I'm not in "inner suburbia" .. this is a raw exposure from the series to show you what LP is in the RAW:

I suppose you're right about being happy with it as a "real" shot ... I'm just so used to seeing all the stunning stuff posted here these days that in comparison this kind of a shot is so "yesterday" it seems

Well, it's actually a tree we like so hence have to resort to cropping rather than chopping in this case
