Now You See It, Now You Don't

I captured some footage of Jupiter last night and then wondered where Europa, the inner moon went. Our line of sight to Jupiter causes its shadow to be off to the side. So Europa went behind Jupiter's shadow even though it was pretty far away from the planet itself. These two shots are 20 minutes apart.

The f29 shot of Jupiter was shot later on after Jupiter was higher in the sky (and right before the clouds).

Enjoy!

Hi Dave

Nice Jupiter! Is Jove getting a little higher above the horizon now, for you N Hemisphere guys?

Cheers

Dennis

Thanks. Yes Jupiter is getting higher this year. It was about 53 degrees from the horizon at about 140 degrees from due east - much better than the last three years.
