I see on the Andrews website that he has Skywatcher Flex-tube AUTO-TRACKING Dobsonians. Although they are about double the price of a non-tracking dob, would auto tracking be beneficial? I am about to upgrade my cheap small reflector and i am worried about a dob's ability to manually 'track' an object...

cheers

Got my 8" col SW dob year and abit ago. Awesome purchase.
Can take it out of the house on a whim, setup on driveway and within seconds I'm perusing nebs and clusters (mind you I've got dark skies).
But the ease of use, the collapsible nature and the general std of optics in an unmodded SW are very pleasing.

Do a search on the forums here. There are MANY reviews on these bits of kit showing the pros and cons. (Mine included).
