the two added images – one sequence for 9.28pm and another for 8.46pm made up of 32 and 31 shots respectively. Stacked in Photomatix, processed in Pixinsight for DBE, ACDNR reduction and mask moon to lift background, then into Photoshop for colour correction and detail enhancement – quite a simple process really…..
Gday David alas nothing from me I was up in the Pilbara that night with cloud cover unfortunately , looks like Roger had a good night though for us westside

The two new images look good with nice detail coming through on the shaded side.

Fair enough - thought you guys had clear cold weather, anyway thanks for the lookin
Excellent work David !!
Congratulations on IOTW, well deserved indeed.
This last shot you posted is gorgeous, lovely subtle hues in there.
I had the privilege of dropping in on Dave on the night of the eclipse, since I was driving back from Newcastle, he invited me over to see his setup and the man in action.
Had a great time, even though it was just a short visit.
David's setup is awesome and the observatory is perfect, I didn't expect it to be so roomy.
Here's a couple of shots I took on the night with my dinky little Nokia phone.
LOL it's the only shot of the eclipse I got on the night.

Thanks for having me over Dave.
Hey now thats not funny posting images like that might make people choke or worse while they are eating dinner RB. You are welcome to come back - maybe with a Tak
the mid eclipse shot is bugging me - i still cant get it right. I have now tried various different methods - now another one.
Tried a method of stacking with aligning with Photomatix, and a special masking technique with pixinsight to not lift the bright side of the moon. Is it any better - if not can you suggest what to do?
Overall there are 25 images stacked in this image repro #13
I do have to say that this last repro has finer detail, and there is more to see in the shadow than the penultimate one. It seems to me that there is a greenish cast in the penumbra, but all in all a mighty piece of work. I have no real ability when it comes to colour balancing and such, but maybe back a little off the green channel? Might muck the rest of it up so it might be best to leave it.

Breathe deep, still the mind young grasshopper.
Tony as an image processor i am a mug. Nooo Idea what i am doing - or why for that matter?
Looks like you have found the right balance. IMO the penumbra colour is the penumbra colour. The detail in the shadow is excellent and you have the bright side under control.
