thanks for the input guys and gals. I need to slightly fix up the first shot to remove some of the noise - and clean up my HDD as i have far too many Repros
ok have taken on board all the comments and have trashed everything i have done except for the first shot - now cleaning that up for noise
HONEST - this is my final repro of this - fixed up the noise issues of the first shot.
Paul - i dumped the cr2 raw files (26 of them) into Photomatix Pro then saved as a 16 bit tiff - processed that in Pixinsight (dynamic background extraction and ACDNR reduction with a slight unsharp mask) then resized in photoshop for the web
So how did you get the colour to come through. I have the HDR image but the colour is not present in the HDR but the red is certainly visible in the over exposed image. Your last image looks the best I reckon.
David, you have captured the eclipse very well. Not visible here this time, and your pics are far better than what was shown on the TV news! (Not surprisingly).
Thanks David. I can see why you have colour in your images now. Mine has only vague pink; yours has so much more colour.
no worries Paul - i took nearly 16 gig of data like that - capturing it all up until 10pm - when i ran out of storage LOL

glad you liked it Chris - it wouldnt be what it is without the help of RB - his guiding light gave me this image
I agree with Molly. On my monitor your last repro is much greener, and I think the first one seems "cleaner" if I can put it that way. Again only my opinion.
