Doug
A couple of years ago when I nearly bought one, Thomas Black (when he was still with us) suggested the Televue for this scope - not sure which one though. No doubt the WO works fine.

The reason for the price drop is that this particular model is being discontinued - that's what I heard from them last week

To quote:
"The End of an Era

http://www.astronomics.com/main/imag...004/tmb80T.jpg After a solid four year run the optical house that makes the TMB 80mm SS APO telescope has decided to halt production of that particular unit. We are limited to our supply on hand and have them marked at a price almost too good to be true....$699. Get one while you can as supplies are very limited.

Have no fears, the rest of the TMB line is still going strong and will continue to grow and thrive. It is just the 80mm APO that will be discontinued."
End quote

HTH
Cheers
Bill

Hmmm, decisions.
Should I stick with the 90mm doublet or go for an 80mm triplet?

They ship here but you need to call or email them, their website isn't setup for overseas stuff.

I've done the same as Gav, TMB80, not the Orion.
Hopefully they will hold one for me till paypal clears my bank transfer.

They mightn't ship here if there is an Australian agent, but TMB doesn't have one.
