Jupiter 22 may

Hi all, this is my second attempt at Jupiter for the year and got a slight improvement on the last. Jetstream was present, but conditions were very calm.

Thanks Trevor. Here is the last avi processed with a slight improvement in contrast. Usually my practice is to capture each colour for 45 seconds, but this one I tried 1 minute per filter.

Hi Lester,

The jetstream can put a real downer on imaging, for sure.
The last couple of times that I have imaged, the GFS charts have looked pretty crook but the seeing has not been to bad.

Not sure about how reliable they are, I suppose if it is clear than it is always worth a try to get some data, regardless of the jetstream predictions.

With Jup I always go with 45 sec's per channel. I reckon it takes about 10 sec's for me to rotate my manual filter wheel, so I get my 3 channels in under 3 min's.

Cheers
Trevor

Thanks for the info Trevor. As my conditions improve, I think I will need to use 45 seconds per colour also. I am using a manual filter wheel.
