The Moon and the Pleiades (M45)

This image was taken at 7:30pm on the 17th April, when the Moon had a close grazing occultation of the Pleiades Star Cluster (M45).

It was captured at the Mudgee Star Party, using my ED80, modded Canon 40D with WO 0.8x reducer. FL 480mm, f/6, ISO 320, 5 second exposure.

Processed in Photoshop CS4.

Larger version on my blog.

Thanks for looking.

Very nice Mike. I had a chat with Gary on the phone this morning and he mentioned catching up with you at the star party. Sounds like the seeing was pretty good.

cheers, Bird

Really lovely Mike, .... would have liked to have had a go at that, but we are still inundated with cloud.
