13/04/2010 Moon, jupiter and a irridium flare

Well i tested out the canon40D for the first and last time as a normal camera - took the crescent moon this morning and jupiter. iso 800 and the 24-200mm sigma lens.

Last night i caught an irridium flare with thick high cloud - used the fisheye lens for the first night shot on the 30D. the flare was at 6.48.

They are not flash shots by any means, but at least i got it LOL

Thanks Mike - used the lens hood to prop it on the front veranda.

Last night the jet stream was horrible the stars were impossible for guiding on. Looking forward to tonight.

Nice shots Dave – I’m particularly fond of the 1st with Earthshine bathing the shadows. Oh, I’m also jealous of your dog house!

Cheers
