Lightning Strikes

Hi All

Yesterday was a rugged day in Perth .... not so bad where I live but late in the day and last night the skies really turned on a wonderful show. It kept me out on my front verandah with my camera 'till 2 am before it eventually faded into the distance and I limped to bed. Here are some of the shots from the night, displayed in chronological order.

My favourite at the moment is number 3 with the lightning punching holes through the clouds. I also like number 2 and 1 and .... ok I like them all

Anyhow I hope you like the pics.

I like number two for the feeling of depth that it gives. Number 4 gives a more in-your-face image of the lightning, but number two for me...

It doesn't work for me Dave .... sorry !

I think the images are strong enough in their own right.

Sometimes images don't need to be manipulated.

Number one for me (must be the only one so far who thinks so)

I like the upward flare of this one, I prefer looking at the sheet type lightning rather than the touch the ground fork stuff, very pretty when you see the lightning shooting around under the clouds.

Them's my two cents. but all very nice shots

Cheers

Chris

Number 4 is my favorite, although I'd like to see it cropped to include less of the black at the bottom - I'd turn it in to a panoramic by cropping a good portion of that, I think it'd improve the composition

To crop the image to a panoramic format of either 2.7x1 or 3x1 ( depending on camera format i.e. Xpan or Fuji GX617 etc ) cuts off the source of the lightning and doesn't really work with this particular set of images Roger, in my opinion. I have some other shots that work as panoramics that I may post at a later date ... bit too busy right now.
