The Lambda Centauri Nebula (IC 2944) in Centaurus

All,

I think I'm really on a roll and just can't wait to get the new CCD into my grubby little hands.

This is the pick of the bunch, thus far, although, I'm quite enamoured with my M83, as well.

Read and view here.

Your comments, critique, etc., are most welcome and appreciated.

Wow H, I have been waiting for this one from you and that has turned out very nice indeed!

I have to get cracking and process my Lambada from the same night.

Cheers Daniel.

Stunning yet again. This is the Running Chicken? I can never see it and have no idea what part is supposed to look like a chicken.

Again, love the star colour control. Those bok globules are easy to see too.

Is it just me, or are you having a bit of a star roundness issue in the corners?

I love the care that you put into processing Humayun. The star (and neb) colours are just breathtaking. I'm glad you're back in the astrophotography saddle and enjoying yourself too.

Thanks!

Trevor,

I certainly made the most of the clear skies available to us at Snake Valley. I was desperate for a fix and I got it.

Cheers.

Thank you.

Troy,

Don't look at me, man -- I've no idea where it is, either! Mike Sidonio explained it one of his posts, and, I'm pretty sure Martin Pugh's shows it quite well.

Yes, you are correct, I have some issues in the corners. I have no idea what type of field flattener to get -- it's going to show up even worse on the new CCD.

Rob,

Thank you for the kind comment. Stars are something that I've recently started paying more attention to in processing. In the past, I was a bit careless.

Rich,

Thanks, so much!

I think I will miss DSLR imaging. It is a right royal pain in the you-know-what. The final straw was imaging during summer time and having to put up with horrendous amounts of noise.

I have to say, as a swan song to this set up, I'm really happy with these results.
