Congrats Phil, I have one as well, they are nice for sure.
One thing you do need to do is make sure you depress and hold "S1" as you power up, as this put it in Southern Hemisphere mode, antiquated I know, but it is the only way.
Although, if you power it with a PC (I use mine with TheSky) it should default to southern operation via the software.
See if you can find an internet copy of the handbook, if you can't I can sort something for you.

Congrats, fine mount indeed ........ OPT has a page with the manuals for the mount including the Temma11

http://www.optcorp.com/product.aspx?...-278-2164&tb=3 {scroll down the page}

I'm sure you'll enjoy using it, I have nothing but praise for mine so convenient and easy to use {ie: polar scope}

Hi Phil

I’ve got the Tak EM200 Temma II which slews as follows:

Working voltage of 12V DC: x350 sidereal rate
Working voltage of 24V DC: x700 sidereal rate.

Do you have the Temma II, or the Temma 2 junior?

Cheers

Dennis

If these are anything like the EM400 then you have a great mount. Hand controller and no home position aside these mounts are superb. They work with such precision, that it is a real shame they don't have home encoders or a decent hand controller.

Congratulations on the purchase.

Well done Phil. Like me you are now fortunate to own one of the finest mounts in the world. I have had mine for 2 years coupled to a Tak TOA130F and it is a joy. On 24 volts input, you should find that slewing at 700x pretty fast. Mine sounds like a jet on steroids.
If you have any quirky issues you are welcome to email me directly.
Cheers and enjoy.

Regards
Richard.

Yeah mate the Taks are the coolest sounding mounts ever!
And they are like great art works.
I have a EM-11 and it is awesome.
The Tak polar scopes is the best there is.
