Hi All
Heres a couple of new Tuckians that saw their first fresh air sometime between 10.30 last night and about 6.30 this morning.
I have lost 2 ducks so far because they go away to sit on eggs when they are clucky and the foxes eventually sniff them out and thats the last you see of them. They wont keep sittin on the eggs once they know youve spotted them so all attempts to relocate or put a safety enclosure around them have been fruitless. So I had to take another tak with this so I bought an incubator and decided to sit on them myself

This also means because the chances are very slim that one of the ducks will take a surrogate role after they hatch then I am also the mum for the first 8 or so weeks as well.
So 28 days ago I put 3 eggs into the incubator and 2 have hatched, which I more or less knew was going to happen about a week ago when I candled the eggs and only found 2 that the air sac was noticeably larger.
Anyway, as with most things that you do and have success with ( in this case 66.6%) you get a little excited and so I thought I'de share it around.
