Todays APOD - Very interesting reading.

I was reading about this today after being alerted to it being an APOD. A good write up can be found on Wiki.

I read APOD before I go to bed every night.

I looked at it last night and couldn't sleep very well as the thoughts of that image and text were running through my head the entire time. I think what bothered me the most was the sentence which exclaimed that it was written in an unknown language 400-600 years ago. I thought we would have accounted for pretty much all languages since that time...

Quite a number of people believe it to be a hoax.

Was discussing this with the guy's at work today.

Some lady reckons she's decoded the manuscript (well, parts of it, anyway). It was on /. a few weeks ago.

I hope it's a real manuscript.

Yes, it is a very interesting piece of history, for sure!! When I showed it to my wife, the first thing she said was it looks like it's written backwards. Some very clever people have looked at this document, I'm sure they've tried to read it every which way. Am trying to download the whole manuscript for a look from a russian site, but not had a lot of luck all day.
