Let me see, our nearest star system is Alpha Centauri. That's 4.5 light years away. So if they could travel at the speed of light it would take them 4.5 years to get here. However we're pretty sure there's no radio activity in that system, hence no space traveling inhabitants, so they would have to come from even further away. So more years to get here, and that's if they can travel at 300,000mps. We can only do a fraction of LS. I reckon the numbers are just too great to even consider that we have been visited.
I don't think that any UFO have visited Earth, why would they, it would not be in there interest, we are not technologically advanced to them if they traveled from another solar system, we are hostile and uncivilized
We look in our scopes searching for exo planets, I suppose if were possible that reason on it's own would be enough. But the likelihood of faster than light travel (theoretically ATM) would put a damper on it.
If we were to see and with radio astronomy detect advanced civilisation, it would many thousand of year to receive the signal. By then they may have invented FTL travel and may beat their own radio signal to get here.
I', sure there's this alien running the news stand at our local deli, he looks at me strangly every time I go in, as if he wants too do despicable experiments on me, should I be concerned

Well I'm sure that when Columbus set off for America, he probably wasn't expecting to find a crowd who could have more easily come to see him first Pioneers generally go to places they suspect are less civilised or less well developed, and are therefore hopefully more amenable to exploitation. A bit of a waste of time and effort if you spend squillions developing the technology to travel the universe, and without researching first, you land on the first place you come across - and they kick crap out of you cos they're way more advanced with the light sabres and stuff.
Best sticking with people and civilisations way down the ladder if poss'
One thing about the "UFO" era is that it was most probably concocted during the cold war in an effort to heighten the level of public paranoia prevalent at the time. Nothing like a public on edge to encourage defense spending.
You raise a very good point there. That's one thing I've never considered.
And in response to Mark..

I'm yet to see a single photograph where an alien spacecraft or alien body is A. real-looking and, B. in focus.
How do you define 'real' when we are supposedly dealing with something that has been physically and scientifically unproven.
We all seem to define our inner-mind images of 'alien' lifeforms based on fictional depictions. The classic 'Grey'.
Personally, I think the creator of the PC game 'Spore' would be on a partially right track with regards to alternate sentient life forms.
If other sentient life exists in the near or far reaches of space, one could only guess as to their physical make-up.
This could be my last post if they get to read it on my home system. What you refer to as aliens are real we live amonst you. We look just like you. That Roswell incident was our pets that died on the way here we thought it would give you a thrill. We have been helping to populate earth for thousands of years.

Yeah , and if I were one of the aliens on that ship which travelled so far and for so long to crash on arrival I would definately be giving the driver of the spaceship a big biff over the back of the head.
I personally don't beleive it for a second unless someone can show some real proof.
Sorry to be a spoil-sport, but in 1995 the secretary for the USAF got so bored of "Roswell", that she took the unprecedented step of partially rescinding the base staff's non-disclosure agreements and basically said: "If any of you monkies know ANYTHING about any alien rubbish lying around - tell anyone you like! Go on! No problem! We'll give you money! If its there, its news to us!"
No one piped up.
Far more likely is the truth: Long-range radar-detection a/o early "stealth" technology was being tested and and flubbed it. Regardless of the passage of time, military technological secrets are rarely made public. Hence the....secrecy.
MUCH more worrying is: Why is is 'Area 51' so public ??!! From WHAT is it diverting our attention!!!!
Enquiring minds want to know!

My wife learned my secret she discovered I could do this(In the photo) and claimed it was a sign of being an alien
