Fun in the Sun! Finally!

Hi all!

Some of you may have recently read a topic of mine, in which I posted about my dog having a serious operation.

She managed to eat several plastic bags and had to have them removed from her bowels, she almost died.

Well 3 months on, her stomach muscles are finally almost 100% and she now is allowed to run and jump. Before this she was under strict rules of no running or jumping.
I took the oppotunity to take her to the beach. I was hoping for at least one action shot, which she humbly provided.

Took a few of her whilst running. This was one of the more interesting shots.
Don't let the physic fool you, she is the nicest dog I have ever owned / met.

In this shot I thought she was going to run straight over me, but she diverted at the last second. I actually shut my eyes, thinking there was going to be one hellava collision.

The sand in the air covered me and the camera, but I wanted the shot...

Thanks for looking!!

Thanks guys.

You could tell, she was glad to be out. I would get her to sit and stay, then run down the beach 20m, call her and snap away at her as she bolted at me.

She thought it was hilarious. Was her first time to a beach with medium waves, she loved getting pushed about by them, not scared at all.

Now thats as committed a shot as those of planes just clearing the head of a photographer on take off. She looks like shes about to leap for NZ !!!!
The epitome of "pull yer ears back and go for the tryline" .. Great picture of a fine dog.

Thanks Jeff!! I guess at certain stages of photography, you need to put yourself and your equipment at stake to get the shot you want. I wanted a good action shot. I am now paying for it, as there is atleast 2 grains of sand that managed to get under the focusing ring of the lens. At certain spots I can now feel the grit when focussing.
That does not bother me as I would have paid hundreds of dollars for someone else to get this shot for me... So the investment in the shot was worth it. Especially personally as when I look at this image I see- My baby doing something I thought she never would again / the first fun she has had in almost 4 months / a beautiful example of a fit dog preforming for me...

In all I am very happy with this picture, obviously though it would not mean so much to others....

On a side note she is literally the last of the, legal purebread American Rednose Pitbulls sold in Australia. She was bought just weeks before they were banned. She has been assesed by council inspectors and has been found to be of very good nature and not a threat at all.

She is unfortunatley an inside dog, as I do not want to risk her escaping and somehow scared into causing someone / something damage. When she is out, she is on a leash at all times. This was a rare example of her free running. I get so few oppotunities these days. That is all part of being a responsible owner of this type of animal.

It is funny how many people these days, don't even know what a purebread American Rednose pitbull looks like. They think they look like staffies, they don't. Every news article I have ever seen disciminates all those type of dogs into the Pitbull catagory. It is amazing how quickly a staffie x turns into a pitbull when it attacks someone.
