Black Friday
How did everyone's black Friday go I personally was playing with a black cat under a ladder with a broken mirror all around me and still won $51 dollars on the lotto and we hadn't won anything on the numbers we have for over 5 years so I don't think that there is anything to the bad luck. That reminds me of what they said in the movie Apollo 13 when asked about the mission being #13 on the 13th and taking off at 13.00 I might not have got that completely right but it is close.

Got good news in the mail today and had a wonderful time this afternoon with my youngest mixing up some potting mix and planting cuttings.
All in all a good day for me.

My morning started out fine, then er... "events" occurred which left me emotionally drained. Personally I am glad this day is almost over.

Let's see.. smacked toe on steps after waking up and on way to go make a coffee.
Went to iron shirt, had dirt streaks on it from something in the washing machine; in fact all my shirts did
Got in car to go to work, battery flat. Left the internal lights on!
An interesting morning.. and I didnt even realise it was the 13th till I got to work at 13:13, how's that for spooky!
EDIT: Hold on a minute! 2009 + 11 = 2+9+1+1 = 13 ... uugh what tha?

Good day today, I won an award. The best amplifier in Aust (beat all the US and UK brands) and it's Aussie.
However I missed meeting Frank (Telecasterguru) today.

Had a good day, although was thinking it was gonna turn crap @ 6pm when one of our customers (a right royal pain in the you know what) rings saying his websites are down...thankfully, I recognised what the issue was and everything was back to normal a few minutes later on!
Carl - there are many theories on the origin of Friday the 13th, the most popular one is that the last supper was on a Friday. There were 13 people seated at the table, and Judas Iscariot was the last to sit down. And of course, he pays for it by accompanying Satan in the last circle of hell (according to Dante's Inferno of course).

It has its origins in greed, revenge and intrigue. It came about after Phillipe IV of France (Phillipe the Fair.....hardly!!!, although that was in relation to his looks, not his demeanour.) managed to convince the Pope to proclaim a Papal Bull (notice) against the Knights Templar. It was actually all over money....Phillipe had none, owed the Templars a fortune and wanted their fortune for himself. So he put the hard word onto Pope Clement to declare the Templars heretics (I won't go into the details as it will take too long) and have their property seized. So, after being hunted down and murdered, it came down to the date: Friday 13th October 1314, when the last Grand Master of the Templars, Jacques de Molay, and several of his lieutenants were put on trial and then burned at the stake. As he was burning, Jacques called out to Phillipe (who witnessed the execution) that both he and the Pope would stand at the pearly gates within the year, to face trial in front of God himself. Needless to say, both Phillipe and the Pope met their end within the year. Both died in suspicious circumstances....Phillipe was most likely poisoned and probably so was the Pope.
So, it's basically an unlucky day, in tradition, due to the bad luck that befell the Templars.
However, the Templars had the last laugh. Not only did many Templars get away, so did most of their money

I had the best day since yesterday ...
I spent time with my X and my daughter and there is nothing more important than that for me...I wish I could be better and have more time but I get more than I probably deserve...
later I enjoyed the pub food,(they treat me so good and give me the best) so I did not have to cook etc...I did not have to go home to possibly face the crazy lady...she is out there but I manage not to see her... and I won so many games of pool its like I could do it for a living...and it was not the wins but the shots I pulled off during the games that was so good...
I love being good at stuff but pool is so good because so many think they are good at it , fancy themselves and to beat those posers is always cool....and I collected on a place bet just as my ready cash ran out at the bar...so the party went on, I came back here for a rest before going to the next one but I will make it a short night cause I get to see my daughter again in the morning.. that is all that matters these days...but best of all I am still alive and having the best time..something many medical professionals said would not be so, I told them I would not die simply because they said I should or could... anyways who cares what the superstitions say, luck is what you make it and I make my own all good ..it all comes down to forgeting that crap and going for it... I wont let stuff guide my day ever... as Chopper says..."any day you are not in the ground is a good day"... and I respect that wisdom even if the man has no ears.
I never want to wake up dead...

This is another one of the popular beliefs of origin.

That's one of the populist ideas about Friday 13th...but it's one that is promulgated by people who actually don't know the real story behind the day. Since in order to know, they'd have to have some knowledge of history and most people don't.
Oh, BTW...Judas "Iscariot"....no such person. Yes, there was a person named Judas, who was present at the Last Supper, but that wasn't his last name. "Iscariot" is not even Hebrew, or any other name in any language. It's actually a corruption of a translation of the Hebrew to Greek (which was a mistranslation to begin with), then later into English and such. "Iscariot" is actually what he was....a Sicarii, a zealot assassin. They took their name from the Roman name for the knives that they used to assassinate their opponents (namely Roman soldiers, officials and citizens). It's a curve bladed knife and very sharp. The Sicarii were, in effect, terrorists and were treated as such by the Romans and their Jewish flunkies. They were also looked upon as such by many of the Jewish Temple priesthood, especially those that owed Rome a favour or didn't like their tactics. They were also known to be available for hire, and weren't squeamish about thieving off those they were asked to assassinate.
The communal group that committed suicide at Masada, in 74AD, were Sicarii and their families.

Carl, I used the common name. I'm reasonably familiar with knights templar, and other things along this line etc (personal interest). The word assassinate is derived from hashish btw ;-) (just in case you didn't know).

Why do we entertain such nonsence that suggests a date or day has good or bad luck??? ... why do we entertain the stupid notion that there is "good" or "bad" luck??? ... for one reason and one reason only...most humans can not accept personal responsibility for their actions but are happy to be victims with no power over their actions .... most are happy when they can assign their power to a God or magic so as to escape the posibility that they are in fact masters of their destinies and not mere vicitms of the Universe...
Why do humans indulge so much crap and choose BS before fact?

Fear...nothing more or less. Fear that they may have to actually take that responsibility upon themselves, as there's no one or nothing else that will.
Nothing drives a belief in an outside agency more so than fear.
