Is it just me, or is it a concern that a bird can just drop its lunch on a vital link in the power circuit of a critical system? What, don't they have ventilated cabinets or cages?

What next, wooden clogs being found inside the detector?????

Well obviously the Higgs boson has come from the future in the form of a bird if we believe recent events.

What's going to happen is this...one day, a pigeon is going to somehow find its way into the main target chamber of the LHC and they'll realise it's there just as it's too late. Then, after years of fruitless searching, the frazzled bird will become the "toast" of the physics world because the particles scattered off its body will be higgs bosons, tachyons, neutral electrons, sparticles and everything else they've ever looked for or theorised about. It'll be the called the PoE..."Pigeon of Everything"

The bird obviously wanted to buy the LHC, seeing how it left a deposit

If the trend continues it'll be worth crumbs too.

That would equate to the "s**t happen" proof?

Mate, you'd be surprised what can stop a piece of high technology. Everyone was agast when they first turned the switch and it didn't work straight off. I'd have been more surprised if it did. How many mission-critical pieces are there on that thing? It's in the many many millions.

Cheeky Swiss owls and their French loaves and baguettes!

Carl, the PoE (LOL) points perhaps toward our own evolution - the Higgs boson being scattered from the fowl must surely be a swirly-time-warp-vortexy thing indicating that we evolved from birds, (tweet tweet) and that is why twitter is so popular (you can't take the twit out of twitter)!

Actually Carl, now I slept on it I noticed there is no time component in your equation. What if it's a poop coming from the future? A warning to us not to push it any further? Huh?
