Observation Book

Wish to, using a book, record events such as location, weather, time and if possible a small area to sketch what I observe. As my observation is mostly in rural areas the book needs to be waterproof and small enough to fit in my cargo pants pocket. Is there such a book? Cheers

Hello potential artist, Go to any of the major art suppliers in Sydney(Janets Riots etc) they carry art field books of the size and type you require in different configerations (spiral bound ,book bound, loose leaf..etc).I suggest that you buy a sample pack of paper to see which type of paper suits your type of artwork, before you purchase a whole book. The very rough paper may be unsuitable for astro art unless you are confident in its use.Incidentally the book covers are reasonably waterproof/dewproof and lets face it if its too dewey you wont be able to draw on paper as it becomes too soft for most pencils and charcol...and the scope may also be beyond the dew point.Anyway there are a number os sites on the net about astro art for tips ,start with "sketch of the day"
have fun qld

Thanks qld. I'll drop into Sydney and check out the art shops but I'm more interested in a book where I can record the location, date, weather conditions what pieces of equipment I used and any other events at the time of my observations with the occasional drawings thrown in. Cheers
