Actually I got a red dot finder too. So you can add that to the list if you want Travis. I can drop it when I drop the mount - let me know.

Yay Marc! Brilliant mate!

Do you have the offending stand-off? If not, we'll need one from York or someone who has one.

I will make a donation. Post details.
If you end up with enough telescope gear, money could go towards binoculars (doesn't hurt to have more than one pair) or perhaps some books such as Atlas of the Southern Sky and a planisphere.
Let me know.

Regards, Rob.

I'll also throw in some 10-90 x 80 Bushnell binos. Let me know where to send them.

Oh. And This might be a good idea.

How about part of the donation money. Say 2-300 dollars go to about 12 Galileo scopes for the kiddies to actually build and learn??

What do you think?

Rob

If this goes ahead, school of physics at university of sydney has galileoscopes for 25ea, so that makes 12 for 300aud.

That's tops Frank It'd be better for the scope than the 1.25" I have. Brilliant!

What about a couple of filters guys? Given Franks great gesture, a 2" moon filter'd be good on the end of the diagonal! Anyone?

Despite having given my yearly charity, I am happy to fund the purchase of a couple of Galileoscopes for the kids.

Happy to pitch in a 40mm Celestron 1.25" Eyepiece if it would be an acceptable addition to the already great gear.

The material contributions which have occured is breathtaking, and I'm sure in good time, when Astro post the banking details, others can make a financial contribution also.

Look, if we can buy up Compendiums at $60 a pop for our own pure indulgement (how many did we sell? 100-plus), then surely we could raise a decent amount to contribute towards the items being donated to this cause, couldn't we?
