Superb speech, and truth be told, brought tears to my eyes. My suggestion is to spread this video around to all friends and family. I think it's important for people to see content like this.

Spot on kid....pity they took absolutely no notice of what you said. Paid her platitudes, clapped her, looked all attentive whilst she spoke but they paid scant real concern for anything she said.

Nothing will change, so long as people keep wanting to go on like they have and remain apathetic to everything that happens around them. Even when someone with a lot more clout and a lot older than her gets up and tries to do something, bring things to attention and stir things up, they get treated like a loony or ignored. If they turn out to be a serious threat to the "powers that be" they either get sidelined, spied upon, arrested and in some case assassinated (or quietly gotten rid of, whichever is the most expedient).

Nothing is going to change...politicians are only paying lip service to all the concerns being aired about climate change etc. Make like they're doing something, talk a lot, but in the final analysis nothing is being done. They're more worried about their economies (i.e. how much money their big business mates are making)...that if they keep going in the same fashion they are now they're not going to have an economy, because they won't have a viable planet to live on to have that economy.

Then they'll wonder what went all wrong and start blaming everything and everyone, except themselves, for the disaster they got themselves into. But they'll know precisely what went wrong, they just won't admit it to themselves or anyone else.

And quiet frankly, I wouldn't blame those generations yet to come if they grabbed these people, lined them up against a wall and shot the lot them. Quite frankly I wouldn't blame the youngsters today if they did the same thing, because it's going to be them that first suffer the consequences of what's happening today. Even some of us oldies who aren't so old, are going to get caught up in all this and it'll be our own fault for not putting our feet down on the throats of these politicians and businesses and making them do the right thing.

Feel the same, and share it with the government, local, state and federal and the media. They are the ones that control our lives in our own country.

She’s good willed, but nobody has steered her toward the right direction. She’s young and ill-experienced to know where the battle needs to be fought. UN delegates are merely pawns for the political and monetary machines. They are sent to meet and discuss hidden agendas conjured up days, months, even years earlier. The UN, IMF and World Bank are the weapons of war, not the ‘war room’. She’s addressing hardened political and financial soldiers (Staffers), nothing more.

Some people are hacking away at the dragon right now, going for the eyes and ears;

Federal Reserve Chairman, Ben Shalom Bernanke, is a cool, cold, callous political officer of monetary evil. He is the gate keeper, and patsy if need be.

And look at the 'Inspector General' idiot, who's charter is to oversee operations of the most powerful, non-Government (Yes, the fed is privately owned!!!), money printing entity in the world.

She's no match for the Fed/IMF/Wold Bank war machine. She can't even answer some simple questions...what a push-over!

The UN is merely a control and communication mechanism, the Fed/IMF/Wold Bank, even Wall Street, are logistics, support and supply centres...the twin towers were two of the monetary headquarters.

I don’t condone his actions, but Bin Laden destroyed two of the REAL global decision centres…but it only created temporary delays.

But none of this really matters. The real slaying of the dragon is being done by another dragon, China. The establishing of a 'Basket of Currencies' for world trade will unhitch the Fed, and possibly spell the death/demise of the US dollar.

The 12 year old girl can't get all that she wants, but she can have some of it.

That's an excellent idea Malcolm. I noticed she's Canadian as well. I've always found that they have level heads, unlike those that they share the North American continent with.

Mark,

Whilst off topic from the OP's link, your links are awesome. Rep Alan Grayson is one cool, calm, collected, very smart person. Bravo to him. That 3rd video was worrying - it was plainly obvious that the woman was being deliberately evasive and probably should be charged with perjury, along with probably most of her senior staff.

This video is from 1992, so she's no longer "just a 12 year old". Her name is Severn Cullis-Suzuki (yes in case you were wondering, her father is the well know environmentalist David Suzuki).

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Severn_Cullis-Suzuki

Looks like she is following in her father's footsteps.

Not now, but they invaded Tibet, Inner Mongolia, and they want Taiwan. They also attacked Vietnam in 1979 and have taken potshots at India on various occasions. Plus they had a standoff with the USSR in the late 70's. They've also treated their western provinces like dumping grounds for their majority Han Chinese and treated the locals like garbage. They're also in argument about the oil fields and territory in the South China Sea. They're on islands there that are closer to Vietnam than anywhere else.

They're just as bad as anyone else, as far as grubbing over resources goes.

Hi all,
I think it's a shame that a thread that started out about something so very positive has to go negative. While I am a realist and don't hide my head in the sand might too much focus on negativity be why we have so much negativity in the world.

Because we focus on what we are doing wrong instead on what we are doing right lets face the media don't often think that the good news story will pull in the viewers but with the internet you don't need the media to spoon feed us our content we can go out there and get it for ourselves so some effort needs to be expended to find all the positives in the world but to get the negative outlook is easy. To get the good takes work any thing that is handed to us and is easy usually will keep us from seeing the positive in the world. Sure we have a long way to go but you can keep your chin up by looking back and seeing how far we have come.

IMHO I have a lot of hope that things are getting better you only have to honestly compare what is acceptable now to what was acceptable in the past to see we are learning and improving it is slow but it is going in the correct direction.

"She’s good willed, but nobody has steered her toward the right direction. She’s young and ill-experienced to know where the battle needs to be fought"

She may be young but IMHO she does know where the battle needs to be fought and just the fact that this girl and her group exists gives me huge confidence in the future of the human race if she can do what she has done at her age just imagine what she can do when she has more experience. I believe that if she were steered in the right direction she would not have as much impact as she has managed to have the seed has been planted and if there are more like her than that seed will not die.

But that's reality....as much as the kid has laudable intentions and she's right in her actions and words, the "great unwashed" haven't noticed her at all and those in the "gravy train" couldn't give a damn what she says because they're happy the way things are going.

Problem is, it's great to hear this when they're young, but what happens to the vast majority of them when they grow up. They do exactly what they railed against when they were young. Thankfully, she is one of the few that hasn't and has done some things to promote awareness of our environment.

What this society needs is a really good shake up and shock, to make people realise what's wrong and to get them to change. Quite frankly, it's not going to happen any other way as the present status quo belies.

Saying the thread has become negative is YOUR perception, it's not mine, not by a long-shot. Renormalised and I are not discussing negativity, we're discussing issues which are directly related to the girl's complaints and future outlook for humanity and the earth. We're not needlessly discussing troublesome issues for fun.

"All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing."
- Edmund Burke -

That was one of the best quote of all time, and it is precisely why a 12yo girl had to voice an opinion...a girl who should be playing at the park with friends - like we did when we were young - not labored down with such stresses.

I'll go one better;
"All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing, or a general population which worries about what others think when evil must be addressed...before 12yo girls feel compelled to take it upon themselves."

And you're worried about a thread turning from flowers into weeds...please!...did you not listen to her words about us adults fixing things they are responsible for?

On 2nd Dec I'm presenting a seminar on the global economy, not because people want to talk about something negative, but because people don't know what's happening and that's why they are scared...but they still want to be able to fix their share of the issues.

Sorry, but, I'm not wrong.

great speech, she started by saying she had no agenda but by the time she becomes an adult she will have many. l would love to believe that some of the things she asked for will come to pass but l believe it is already too late.

Yeah Carl, I agree with you, but half of these were once Chinese Sovereign states...like Tibet, they want to bring them back into the fold, it’s a mindset, not a monetary policy, or a war policy, it’s foreign policy which they see as still being an internal national policy.

The 12yo girl talked about starvation right?! Well after all the aid over all the years, we’re still no further forward, why? Because Government aid does one thing and one thing only, it stimulates and frees-up the economic situation of the starved nation just enough to do one thing, to commence repayments of previous debts to world banks. That’s all it has ever done!

This is why monetary policy allows or prevents unethical activity at a global level. The manipulation of resources and wealth. A government’s international monetary policy has more long-term affects than either world war…and it’s far more devastating.

The US international monetary policy has been so bad over the past 60 years, it is matched only by the abuse of the greenback being the sole international trade currency.

There’s no way a 12yo girl can know these things.
