Impromptu Star Party Kilcoy
If it's fine, if this dust storm gives us a miss, I'm having a little get together at my place near Kilcoy. This Saturday night.
I know the moon will be a problem in the first part of the night (you can actually photograph the moon you know ), but once it's set it will be all darkish sky goodness.
There's plenty of room to camp if needed.

What a grand gesture, Jeanette. I'd love to join in on some good weather to the north. I hope you get some enjoyable visitors and some clears skies! Have a quiet one for the rest of us.

If I where at home in Roma I would love to come and visit for the weekend but I am currently in Sydney putting upwith yet another dust storm. Woke up at 530 this morning and dust everywhere again. Was heading to the Blue Mountains today but I might just have to make do with visiting Luke at AndrewsCom instead.
If you have another get together planned I would like to come over.

Had the usual teething problems Rob. But it's all good fun sorting through them. It's a beautiful mount though. Slewing is smooth and it's rock solid. After the iOptron's big handset screen, it takes a little getting used to having only 2 lines of info at a time.

Well that was an early finish.
The dust storm front arrived at 7pm and we'd packed up by 7.30.
Not a star in sight by that time, only Jupiter and the moon. And they were fading fast.
Guess it was wishful thinking setting up in the first place.

Oh, come on, I don't drink that much, do I?
You people are a bad influence on me.
I never used to drink at star parties you know. It's true, ask Ron.
