Not so much a dream as a bit of nightmare for the last couple of weeks trying to source bits! They tell me in "Prancing horse" world this is normal

Anyway, yes, my folly will have a few new shiny bits and be on the road again soon...and maybe some more piccys

When replying to a message, under the message, click "Go Advanced".

There, down the bottom, is a link to Manage Attachments where you can upload images.

My favourite car has always been a 1955 Chevrolet Belair. You can keep your sporty junk they are rather impractical.

My present spare car is a 1990 Toyota Camry station sedan. Why! because it is so useful I can't afford to get rid of it. It pulls my caravan, trailer, Easily loads my telescopes, Train etc. It has a roof rack for carrying lengths of timber and steel and it does not need to be washed (except by the rain).

My dream car:
One that goes all the time.
Uses no fuel.
Never needs servicing.
Costs nothing.
Carries everything.
Is comfortable to ride in.
Has every extra known to man.
Comes with dark, clear skies.

Dreaming again.............

I'm still mourning the death 12 months ago of my namesake - a 1970 Mercedes 280 SE. Some called it a Mafia staff-car, others a bourgeoisie affectation. It was just fun and comfortable to drive, expensive to run and the replacement (a 2 door, Korean extrusion-like go-kart) just works all the time.

You Sir, have just went up in my estimation. Gene Hunt is my hero.

When i was in living in the USA briefly, i had a Corvette, what a drive, cornering wasnt great, but in a straight line it was a rocketship.

I must be honest though, and say i love my daily driver, my MX5, its not the fastest or best car about by any stretch, and its nothing fancy, but having the roof down on a sunny day, and downshifting, while going round 90 degree corners at 60k's effortlessly, is great fun

On a visit to the Melbourne Motor Show earlier in the year I fell hard for a Porsche Speedster that was in amongst the Shannons auction lots, if I remember clearly it was out at more than $100000.

I had a little Honda rice burner that was all kitted up as my second car about 5 years ago, (i'd been hanging out at Eastern creek race meets to much as a teen). I came to hate the attention i'd get in it and also the expense so I really dont have a dream car anymore, as long as it goes and preferably has frosty air con I couldnt really care what it is.

I'll agree with Leon about the SS.....6.0 litres of pushrod V8 goodness. Absolutley fantastic to drive, could do with a little bit more stiffness in the front supspension, but other than that it's great drivers' car.

Here's our baby, 2009 model, 6 speed manual and leather interior. Just waiting to add a few little modifications (like the suspension ).

P.S. I also think my wife loves it more than I do (her brother used to race these )

That is cool...a few years back when we were tearing down an old barn on one of my family's farms we discovered on old KG underneath a bunch of old tarps etc. No one seemed to remember where it came from...I was living in Australia when it was found...I haven't seen it yet and I don't even know the year but someday I will fix it up (or more likely have someone else do it for me) but it is at the "Home" farm now so it is only a matter of time and money now...Now to find that Shelby...We have few old barns left so who knows?

Like others, my dream car is the Bugatti Veyron.
More realistic(but still out of my price range!) is the R35 GTR
Even more realistic... a jet black Series6 RX7 (I'm too tall to drive one... I have tried)
More likely(with my pay packet) the new Mazda3 MPS

On the motor theme as Gene said parking the quattro in a slightly seedy neighbourhood

"Anything happens to this motor, I’ll come round your houses and stamp on all your toys. Got it? Good kids."

Some of his others unrelated to the thread (sorry) I like

"He’s got fingers in more pies than a leper on a cookery course."

and

"You’re as nervous as a very small nun at a penguin shoot."

a few others are a bit rude for this family friendly site

Hmmmmm..... I must be a boring old fart...

My daily drive is a Hyundai i30 diesel and we also have a Falcon XR6 which is primarily used as a tug for the caravan.

Our 'dream car' will be purchased when we retire - either a Toyota Prado diesel or a Toyota Land Cruiser diesel - when we hope to be 'on the road' full-time

My other part-time toy was a Honda VTR 1000 motorcycle, but it spent more time in the garage collecting dust that anything else, so I got rid of it.

None of the above are as much fun as my ride-on mower

Its a nice car, but i have never understood the fixation here with such huge engines. i am sure its nippy and fast etc. but apparently the carbon footprint created in Australia per capita, is the highest in the world.

My friends engine blew up last week, and he was really upset "whats wrong?" i asked him, knowing what was wrong, and giving him an opportunity to talka bout it, he replied "you know what this means? this means i have have to drive a four cylinder"

needs to say, i was disgusted.
