Lagoon triffid and friends from Duckadang

This image was taken one evening at Qld astrofest 2009. it was taken with the modded 20D and canon 135mm Lens ISO 800 F3.5. . I really believe that i should have had more time on this to do it justice - and someone better than me to process it.Tto process i used DSS, then into pixinsight then into photoshop to save for the web.

Anyway i hope its OK

Very nice David. I think you did a pretty good job of the image, stack, and process.

Really nice David. I am sorry but I couldn't help myself. Just an adjustment of the histogram and an adjustment of shadows and highlights. Hard to crunch it back down to 200KB but here it is.

Sorry again David.

A minute per millimetre, hmm, taking it slow I see.

Very nice fov David, with good detail.
As Scott said it's nice and deep, your histogram is well shaped.
Just need to adjust the black point a little to increase the contrast.

In PS go into Levels and move your black point up to around 45 and see what you think.
I like to leave a little room at the start of the curve so it doesn't seem to look like it's clipped.

Got to love that 135mm L hah mate !!

David,

It's always a fun challenge trying to process such widefields where you have so much dynamic range to conquer.

You've done well. Now, show us some more.

Regards,
Humayun
