You've black clipped the image. That means you've cut off part of the low end of the brightnesses. It makes the background go black but it also takes away some of the faint nebula.

Bold prediction: you will be the first female David Malin Award winner in the deep sky category, you heard it here
Now I have to say repro's of other peoples images often make me laugh cause they usually make them worse but I think there was enough in two of the jobs to show you a few tricks. You seem to be consitent and above all you are clearly steadily improving. No doubt, particularly if you ever get hold of better equipment, you will be in Parkes one day.

That's high praise Mike. Thanks.
But I've a long way to go before I'd consider entering the DMA's. This is all just fun and games for me at the moment. Don't know if I'd have the patience to do it seriously.

Like I said, I'm practising, after requesting if it was ok. Not too sure about making them worse, just adjusted back ground colour...
Guess I should keep practising, with my own work.

Ah Mitch, I was only being lighthearted, please don't stop having a play with others images does no harm really. But if you do.. it is always better if you can actually improve them rather than run them through a shreader I mean no harm at all.

I'll be sure to let the makers of Nebulosity2 know, your most valuble opinions on their software... Is there anything else you would like to add, just for their interest I would imagine? Adjust colour background (Offset) has so many complexities to it I think.
Don't worry, I take most things light heartedly.
Just in regards to that though, back ground colour, do you see any issues in the original version? Would you adjust the back ground colour, or leave it as it is?
Just remember, I didn't title my post, "I made JJJ's image heaps better, check it out!!!". I made it clear that not only was I practising, I was not happy with my efforts... Hence they have been removed..

Hey Jeanette
Wow
A great image, love it, absolutely fantastic. Why not do a Supernova search of it? Hey I am serious, there are Thompson /Bryan charts for the LMC and SMC and I bet few people regularly check them. Can scan and send if you like.

Hi Jeanette,
OK done them. Do you want to PM me with where you want me to send? Obviously your image goes a lot deeper than the Thompson/Bryan Charts (Naked eye chart - limiting magnitude 5 and Bino Charts limiting magnitude 9) but that's ok because you will be looking for anything that is brighter and not on the charts. And, seeing as you will spend time imaging the LMC & probably SMC you might as well use the charts to check naked eye and with Binos and pass the time. If you are really game, check your future LMC images against this "reference" image - but there are an awful lot of stars there, so look for anything unusually bright doesn't appear to be in your reference image, that will then warrant further investigation, a nova, a variable star perhaps supernova. Another thought might be some much shorter images of the LMC and SMC that could be used with the bino chart.
