Jupiter August 3

I managed to find a brief moment last night of fleeting 6-7/10 seeing.

It felt nice to finally see some finer detail on the laptop screen during capture, rather than only the usual larger blocky features.

There's some interesting stuff happening on Jupiter at the moment. Obviously, the impact scar is still there and is in evidence if you look closely at this image to the upper right of the globe.

But I'm also fascinated by the stream of material interacting with the GRS and Southern Temperate regions.

Thanks for looking

Hi Matt

That’s a lovely image of Jupiter, nicely captured and processed. The range of colours has come out really well, from the salmon pink of the N Temperate Belt (?) to the subtle blues of the festoons in the equatorial region.

Cheers

Dennis

As I constantly look at weather maps for whats happens in Tassie, I then scan north to SA, ACT, and Brissie.

Good to see that you are getting some better conditions than the crap that seems to have hung around qld for ages!!!!

A very nice image

Nice image Matt. I was out having a look at Jupiter at about the same time, and there were short periods of nice seeing now and then.

Cheers,
Stephen
