Jup morning of 3rd Aug images + animation

Hi all,
Captured 24 avi's from midnight to 3:30am CST.

Note: The correct UTC date for early morning imaging is still the date of the previous day.

There was no cloud at all for a change.
The seeing from midnight to 3 am was stable at 6/10 just after 3 am the seeing deteriorated rapidly and I made my final capture at 3:27 am CST.

The hook feature that has been so prominent over the last few days has curled completely around a polar spot and has now made a virtual eye. Anthony has previously suggested that the hook was likely related to one of these spots and these images would seem to confirm it.

I have posted the best three of the six R channel images, these were 2 min captures of 3,600 frames with the best 1,200 frames used to create each of these images.

I have also attached 1 RGB of the 6 sets of RGB's that I captured, there are simply not enough hours in the day to process all of the data.
The avi's for the RGB's were 45 sec captures of 1,300 frames for each channel with the best 450 frames from each channel going into that RGB.

Thanks for looking
Regards
Trevor

Hey Trevor – you’re a real trooper! I fully sympathise with your sentiments re chugging through mountains of data to produce the single frames that go into generating an AVI; truly this is a labour of love!

Excellent work, as we have come to expect from you! I’m so pleased that you were able to record a series for the animation of the Bird Strike – my session was terminated by the collapse of the good seeing, so I missed the impact site coming around the corner.

Cheers

Dennis

Great work Trevor. Super detail in the RGB and the R channel images define the change in the impact surface really well
