'Bird Strike' 24/7

Finally got time to process more of the AVI's I captured from Friday night/Saturday morning. This image was from 14:43UT, with the Wesley impact scar up top, Io receding to the right, and the GRS disappearing to the left.

Well done Andrew,

It is still very well defined about a week after the impact, hopefully it will survive for a few more weeks. The SL9 impact scars survived for over a month, they were marginally larger and closer to the equator where the winds would likely have been stronger than at the latitude of the Bird Strike.

This is a nice record of its current morphology.
Regards
Trevor

Thanks Quark & bird.

Here is another image from earlier in the night, when the GRS was more prominent. Processed a bit more lightly.

Hi Andrew

I really like the second one - the colours look very natural and the image is not over processed - a fine image indeed!

Thanks Fahim, Matt, & David.

When I look back on it I like the second one more myself now too, you can sometimes get carried away when processing
