My hat's off to you Chris. Now I have a benchmark of obsession I can show my better half when I'm accused of being an uber-geek

Have you not heard about tv..there are cooking shows, dance shows, lose weight shows, cartoons, endless music vidios, biased news reports and infomercials, cars that go around and around but go nowhere and dramitisations of meaningless fictional real life representions not to mention repetative m indless games best confined to school years... do you want to miss all that just to live in the real Universe....then maybe you are normal, maybe you have a life and those engaged in the shallow exsitences portrayed on tv are wrong...

As humans we have the ability and privledge to understand where we are but maybe not who we are..yet... but there is nothing wrong with astronomy and the pursuit of knowledge and a preoccupation with all subjects relating thereto

yeah pretty much alex,I just can't watch tv at all these days and my dear wife dosn't often give me the chance to partake of television.
My head cold fueled subconsious may of dealt her a mortal blow on the weekend , in that I think i may of binned the remote by mistake.

I can actually flip on a dvd now and then .. though nothing goods going to come my way of this if it dosn't show up .

Thankfully its clear outside again tonight and i can slip out and avoid scrutiny .. for now

Guilty as charged Chris.

I also happily travel 110 kilometres (round trip) to our Astro society meetings although it is a bit tough on a motorbike in winter.

Cheers

Cheers Alex and Ric. I feel normal again.

Ric - I do the same - it's a long way for me to one of my meetings as well. I must say that you doing it on a bike, in the middle of winter no less, raises your "dedication" level up one on me though.

15 !!?? How could I have missed 15?
Now I've gotta go and try to clear some room on the Foxtel IQ HDD.
Darn! I don't want to erase any of the space docos already sitting there!

I just hope the rest of the family never work out how to delete a "keep" programme

How about being envious of your son because he has met an Astronaut and you haven't? Damm work, had to be in Canberra the day HE (my son) was invited for afternoon tea.

I must admit to all in the list, plus building models of Space hardware and fictional Starships. Used to have my lounge decorated with models when I had my own place. Will again some day, still got about 40 unbuilt ones in storage

Hi Jen, and All,

Told ya' ages ago you're a geek Jen.

I thought that being an Astro Geek is normal. Its the rest of 'em out there that are weird and nutty.

Back from Perth, will thread after I unpack.

Cheers Marty
