Now that's a Water Tank!

Just a few happy snaps from Saturday's play. I got a last minute message that my mate with the tanks was getting them out to play, so took some time off from painting to join in. I didn't get a lot of shots as I was driving one of the carriers, and I could've done better with the the camera on raw for a little extra dynamic range (it was on HQ JPG from taking progress shots of the renos).

We were entertaining members of the Land Rover Owners Club, who had been assisting a mutual friend with fencing and rehabilitation of a remote but badly 4WD damaged block.

By all accounts they seemed to have a ball! (as did we!)

1. Rooster tails behind the Centurion as it turns at speed.
2. Splashing around in the dam.
3. ditto.
4. Just when the thrillseekers think they're heading deep into the dam...
5. ...the pilot pulls a spin turn, and cracks a joke or 2...

Ah, love the little Bren Gun Carrier. I spent my childhood ripping around the bush in those with my uncle. Great toys!

Cheers,
Jason.

It'd be perfect! The Centurion's IR night vision system is fully functional. We could roar around in the dark and not affect anyone's night vision!

I'm not sure the swimming hole would be big enough to get much of a splash though

I dunno what it was... there's no glass left in it... something to do with the previous owners shooting fireworks out of it.

The 2' diameter dish (covered in camo canvas) on the front left hand side is the gunners IR lamp! I would guess it would be a reflector of about 0.2 FR... (It's a straight incandescent lamp with an IR (passing) filter. In night vision mode you can see stuff a couple of k's away and shoot it in the dark with only the muzzle blast to give away your position).
